My Recent trip to Portugal

September 13, 2017

Hi, I am PS Goh of Alternative Travel. I recently made a trip to Portugal to visit some of the golf courses in Lisbon and as well as in Algarve. The weather during this period of time was just fantastic averaging between 18 to 28 degree Celcius, with little rain.

While there, I visited courses in Lisbon and as well as Algarve. I flew into Lisbon and upon arrival, started my golf courses visit the next day after some rest. While in Lisbon, I visited the Oitavos Dune. Oitavos Dunes is a great links course embedded within the Sintra and Cascais natural park. The course is set among Evergreen pine woods and reforested dunes, in an area of great natural beauty. It was designed by one of the world’s most respected golf course architects, Arthur Hills, and thus it shouldn’t come as a surprise that this course is ranked as one of the World’s top 100 golf courses.

I also visited the Penha Longa Atlantic Golf Course.

This is a mountain course, 45 minutes travel from Lisbon city centre. Ranked in the top 30 Courses in Continental Europe, Penha Longa Resort 27 holes designed by the famed Robert Trent Jones jr, are escapist golf at its best. With its bold drives, courageous approaches and artful greens, it is both an adrenalin rush and a soothing journey through one of Portugal’s most inspiring landscapes. Exciting at every turn, this championship challenge and host to the Portuguese Open, is a master of variety and thrills. The Atlantico is a challenging course on a still day, but when the wind blows across the mountains, even the best struggle.
